THE Ministry of Health has started delivering medicines directly to the health centres in an attempt to curb delayed deliveries.
It has also created seven regional offices to monitor the drugs and receive public complaints. The offices are in Kampala, Mbale, Soroti, Gulu, Hoima, Mbarara and Fort-Portal.
The health minister, Stephen Mallinga, flagged off the first trucks with the drugs from the national medical stores in Entebbe yesterday.
The direct deliveries are expected to reduce the time of delivery to a maximum of five days after the drugs have left the stores.
